Desde el aeropuerto

La Escuela Politécnica Nacional es el lugar que acogera el evento CLCA 2018, el tiempo de traslado respecto al aeropuerto es de aproximadamente 1 hora.

Banco y Dinero

La moneda utilizada en Ecuador es el DóLAR AMERICANO, en el aeropuerto existe servicios de cambio de moneda. En la Av. Amazonas ubicada a 10 minutos del evento CLCA 2018 también existen varias entidades dedicadas al cambio de divisa.

El horario de atención en los bancos de la ciudad de Quito, es de 9h30 a 16h00.

Además existe una gran red de cajeros automáticos distribuidos por la ciudad en los cuales podrá retirar dinero en DÓLARES AMERICANOS.

 

Clima

El clima de la ciudad corresponde al clima subtropical de tierras altas, al encontrarse a una altura promedio de 2800 msnm.

La temperatura promedio es entre 10ºC y 22ºC, se recomienda siempre disponer de un abrigo. 

 

Electricidad

En Ecuador se emplea el sistema de 120 VAC a 60 Hz. El tipo de enchufe utilizado es tipo A y B. Los cuales se ilustran en la siguiente imagen:

VISIT QUITO

 

MITAD del MUNDO, Estimated time of arrival 1h30m

Ethnographic Museum “Mitad del Mundo”:  Inside the monument there is a small museum that shows elements of the indigenous culture of Ecuador, such as clothing, descriptions of the various ethnic groups, and samples of their activities. 

  • To the east of the monument there are busts carved in stone of the members of the Geodetic Mission.
  • Another of the attractions of the Middle of the World(Mitad del Mundo) are the traditions in the villages of Pomasqui, San Antonio de Pichincha and Calacalí.
 

You will also find several pavilions belonging to the countries that participated in this historical event and that have been invited to present their scientific resources and their historical references: Ecuador, France and Spain.

  • Germany has also been invited, for its constant interest and the outstanding scientists who came to Ecuador as Humboldt who arrived in our country in 1802.
  • Insectarium: A place where you can see a wide variety of insects and butterflies from around the world with their respective scientific names, place of habitat and origin.

CENTRO HISTÓRICO, Estimated time of arrival 20 minutes

The Historic Center of Quito was declared a Cultural Heritage of Humanity on September 8, 1978. It has around 130 monumental buildings and an area of 375.2 ha. The colonial churches, narrow streets, squares, pools and several corners consecrated to the tradition of a mestizo city can be observed at every step.

     PANECILLO, Estimated time of arrival 20 minutes

El Panecillo is a traditional precolonial mound, converted into a natural viewpoint of the city now adorned by the monument to the Virgin of Quito, sculpted by Bernardo de Legarda in the 70s, which is the main observation point of the city.

The statue is 31.50 m high; it is considered the largest in Ecuador. Built in aluminum and composed of more than 7000 pieces.

TELEFÉRICO, Estimated time of arrival 25 minutes  

The Teleferico de Quito is the perfect place to hike or trek to one of the main peaks of the Pichincha volcano, the Rucu Pichincha. In addition it offers one of the best views of the city of Quito

LA RONDA, Estimated time of arrival 20 minutes

La Ronda is one of the most traditional streets found in Quito, not only because it is one of the oldest, or because it was the cradle of painters, writers and poets from the 1930s. The street lights up and there is an air of party, but to the traditional. The bars and restaurants offer live music, as well as delicious food and drinks.

ZOOLÓGICO GUAYABAMBA (ZOO), Estimated time of arrival 1 hour

The zoo has different exhibits on its self-guided trails. It has both amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals and animals from other parts of the world. It also has specific attractions such as El Charco de las Ranas (habitat of toads), the Marsupials section, the Casa de los Nocturnos, Andean Forest and Dry Forest trails, a Children's Farm and a Visitor Center.

MINDO, Estimated time of arrival 1h45m

19,200 protected hectares surround Mindo, making it one of the most biodiverse places on the planet.

Mindo is also famous for the extreme sports that can be practiced, and is one of the best places to birdwatch or birdwatch all over the world. u

PLAZA FOCH, Estimated time of arrival 10 minutes

"LA CAROLINA" park, Estimated time of arrival 20 minutes

This park has 67 hectares and offers countless distractions. It is an ideal place to rest after a long day. During the week, it welcomes athletes who are especially dedicated to athletics and cycling activities.

 

   

It also has gardens, areas for soccer, basketball, volleyball and skating. Weekends offer rhythmic gymnastics sessions for aerobics and there are horse riding areas. Boat rides are also offered.

TOUR by TRAIN, Estimated time of arrival 1h15m

The adventure begins at the Chimbacalle station, from where we start towards the "Avenue of the Volcanoes". Pichincha, Atacazo, Pasochoa, La Viudita, Rumiñahui accompany the train on their route. The road descends through the "jungles of Panzaleo" that lent wood to the churches of Quito, crossing pastures, crops and haciendas. In Tambillo and Machachi we enjoy the gastronomy and culture of the chagras. In El Boliche, at the foot of the Cotopaxi, we discover its flora and fauna and return to Machachi to see Granja La Estación and taste a lunch.
